The professional activity of the founding partner of the firm began in Clusone (BG) in 2003. In January 2018 the original professional structure, after 15 years of activity, was organized in the form of a limited liability company through the establishment of an engineering company called “Studio Castelletti s.r.l.”.

The structure is made up of technicians with extensive experience in the hydroelectric, river and hydraulic fields (sewers, aqueducts, hydraulic and environmental arrangement and water treatment).

Overall, the firm has completed 413 projects in 24 years, of which 293 concerned hydroelectric plants, for a total installed capacity of 2039 MW, of which, according to the IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency) classification:

Of the 293 plants

8 are equipped with Banki turbines; 1 with a Diagonal turbine; 89 with Francis turbines; 93 with Kaplan turbines; 88 with Pelton turbines; 2 with Archimedean screws.

The most significant hydroelectric plant designed and built is the Kikagati hydroelectric power station, on the border between Uganda and Tanzania, which handles a maximum flow of 210 m³/s over a head of 10.0 metres.

Since its establishment, the company has worked in 19 countries: Albania, Algeria, Angola, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Libya, Macedonia, Nigeria, Norway, Romania, Rwanda, Serbia, South Africa, Switzerland, Uganda and the United Kingdom (England, Scotland and Wales); and across 3 continents: Europe, Africa and Asia.

Starting in 2020, the company began diversifying its activities, while remaining within the hydraulic engineering sector. Its areas of work include hydraulic regulation works in mountain areas and interventions in the sewerage and water-supply networks.
